A project to look at 50 different viewpoints of America. The best photos submitted by these 50 participants will be posted here.
These photos were submitted by Lauren M. of IL.
Nice sense of balance in this photo and I like the sky clearing and the wet street.
This picture could be anywhere, but the L lets you know it is Chicago.
I don’t know why, but I seem to like the grittiness in this photo.
These photos were submitted by C. Cruz Dintino from MA.
Picture from what might be one of the prettiest city drives in the US. Yeah, I’m a little biased.
I like the efficient use of a last photo at the post office before returning the camera.
A common scene in MA: traffic and a Dunkin Donuts.
A little live music at Oktoberfest in Harvard Sq.
I don’t think it is possible to go to Cambridge (particularly Harvard Sq.) without seeing a protester of some sort and a mime.
One of the great stores that gives Harvard Sq. so much character
Not sure what happened here in Harvard Yard, but I like the leftover chaos.
or “The Life of the Land is Perpetuated in Righteousness”, which is the state motto of Hawaii. Photos submitted by Lydia Munger-Little from Hawaii.
Yeah, it is a cliché. But everyone thinks about palm trees when they think about Hawaii. If you ask a person to name 5 things about Hawaii, I’m almost certain that a palm tree will be one of the items.
Makes you feel like you are sitting on a blanket just staring out at the waves. North Shore of Oahu? Not sure.
I like the contrast the mushrooms make with the grass. I also like the Smurf point of view.
Aloha indeed.
Love the Technicolor of Hawaiian Shave Ice.
Greetings from the Evergreen State: Washington
I already showcased some cute kids from Washington in a separate post, so here are some other views submitted by S. Graves from Washington.
I find the moss growing in the roof shingles fascinating.
While the sunset is nice, I like the silhouettes of the evergreens the most.
Photos submitted by C. Thibeault from Utah.
With the church as such a big presence in people’s minds about Utah (at least mine) I think including this photo was appropriate to represent Utah.
I like the feeling of serenity you get when looking at the reflecting pool.
I really like this picture of birch trees. Seems like abstract art made from nature.
A lot of people associate Utah with great skiing and the outdoors and I think this photo accurately captures that sentiment.
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I’m sure many of you thought I abandoned the project. That is not the case. If anything I think I was a little overwhelmed with a deluge of pictures all at once. Things also were fairly hectic over the last few weeks on multiple fronts.
These photos were submitted from G. Cook from North Dakota.
I really like the use of perspective in this picture. Great output from a disposable!
Quaint street in Fargo.
I like the mischievous look on the gargoyle.
First photo submitted by M. Kiley from Rhode Island. Second photo submitted by S. Rigg from Idaho. This post is themed on the pictures I have received related to children.
Submitted by Nina Yoshida Nelsen from Indiana.
Submitted by M. Flaherty from Ohio.
Submitted by M. Kiley from Rhode Island. Seems like the girls’ attention is on something off camera during the hayride.
These last four pictures were submitted by S. Graves from Washington. All are engaging the viewer in a different way. Not sure what the last boy is looking at, but the picture makes you want to ask him.
