Here is the letter I sent out with all of the cameras:
The 50 Perspectives on America project idea is to send a disposable camera to 50 people in 50 states. Subject matter would be up to the photographer and can be anything at all. The time period would be until Oct. 24th. Could all be in one sitting (say 27 pictures at a party) or could be on various days. Doesn't have to be any "event", just something the photographer thought looked good and would want to share. There does not need to be a theme to the pictures you submit.
Rules for the project:
-
No pictures of any illegal activities
-
No nude (partial or full) pictures. I have nothing against nude photography, but do not want to create any hassles with the developer.
-
No Halloween pictures. This rule is only because I don’t want 50 versions of Jack O’Lanterns, witches, etc.
-
Cameras must be postmarked by Oct. 24th, 2009
The best picture will win a photo book comprised of all of the photographs from the project. The next 4 photos will win an 8 x 10 copy of their photograph.
All rights to all photos submitted are reserved by Allen Wong. Selected photos will be displayed at http://50perspectives.blogspot.com/. I will reserve the right to crop the pictures you submit if I see something interesting in only a portion of a picture you take. I will refrain from digitally enhancing the pictures other than minor contrast/brightness issues. Please fill out the enclosed form so I know who took the pictures so I can give proper credit. (Only First Initial, Last Name and City and State will appear on the website or book unless otherwise noted). Photos submitted without the included form will not be eligible for publication.
Thank you very much for participating and I look forward to all of the great photos that you produce!
Best wishes,
Allen Wong
